Dana Lixenberg (b. 1964, Amsterdam〔) is a Dutch photographer.〔Knight, Christopher. She decided to study photography at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy and the London College of Printing, returning to live and work in New York in 1990.〔〔(Graphis: international journal for graphic and applied art, Issues 321-322 ) (1999) (short biography)〕 Her breakthrough in the U.S. came in 1993, when her quintessential photographs of residents in the Watts section of Los Angeles, published in ''Vrij Nederland'', caught the attention of New York's ''Vibe'' magazine.〔Hay, David. Lixenberg photographs people from all social classes, as her 2001 book United States illustrates.
